Candidate for the office of SEIU Local 500 Treasurer
My goal, upon reelection, is to continue to:
Manage the Local’s finances responsibly
Ensure that the Local follows all Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service financial and governance regulations
Safeguard the fiscal health and future of the local, and
Work to ensure that the needs of all members, regardless of employer or position, are considered in major decisions made by the Executive Board.
My education and experience put me in the perfect position to continue to meet these goals.
My SEIU Experience includes
Treasurer (two terms)
Member of the Media & Technology Labor Management Committee (LMC)
VP of Media & Technology (one term) and Co-Chair of the LMC
Elected SEIU Representative
Accomplishments:
Initiated SEIU Local 500 Expense policy, subsequently adopted by Executive Board. Provides greater accountability spending and budget implementation.
Participated in the development of Executive Board policy to guide appointments to fill Executive Board vacancies. If elected, I will work to ensure that this policy is actively applied as needed.
Participated in full contract bargaining for MCPS. Prepared to do so again, if elected.
Work Experience – May 2025 finds me completing 24 years with MCPS. My current position is as IT System Specialist at Wheaton High School. I started at MCPS as a Help Desk Specialist.

Masters of General Science in Not for Profit Management from University of Maryland, University College (currently known as University of Maryland, Global Campus)
Bachelors of English Language and Literature from University of Maryland, College Park
