Candidate for the office of K-12 Division, Vice President MCPS Paraeducator Chapter

My name is Erricka Evans and I am eager to serve as Vice President for the Paraeducator Chapter of SEIU Local 500. During my 12-year tenure with MCPS, it has been a pleasure to work in dynamic and collaborative general and special education settings that contribute to positive outcomes for students. I have heard your collective voices, and when elected, I intend to elevate your meaningful contributions, concerns, and ideals to positively impact change within MCPS. As a Vice President for the Paraeducator Chapter, I will also work to promote a depth and breadth of transparency to encourage increased support for and commitment to our shared vision for our professional futures.

 As Paraeducators, we have a unique lens through which to view our students. I will work alongside SEIU leadership to ensure that SEIU members receive the deserved recognition, comprehensive training resources, and compensation commensurate with the quantity and quality of work we do.
