Cynthia T. Taylor
Candidate for the office of K-12 Division, MCPS Media & Technology Chapter
Cynthia was born in the West Indies and came to the US as a young girl. Growing up in Chevy Chase, Cynthia had the opportunity to engage with an international community and the allure of the nation’s capital. Cynthia is a graduate of Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland and also of the University of Maryland Global Campus where she studied Information Technology Systems with a concentration in Cyber Security.
Over the years, Cynthia has had a tremendous variety of professional opportunities ranging from working in the Montgomery County Court System to firms that specialize in training technology professionals highly sought after professional designations and skills. For the last 12 years, Cynthia has worked as a technology professional within the Montgomery County Public School system. Currently, she manages the technology needs of one of the largest schools in Montgomery County Public Schools (Quince Orchard High School).
On the personal side, she has volunteered to support numerous local elections. She has directed volunteering efforts, fundraising, and registration drives along with other candidate supporting activities. Cynthia is an extremely accomplished runner and athlete, completing some 33 full marathons as well as the JFK 50 miler (twice), a grueling ultramarathon. She has also completed countless shorter but still exciting road and trail races. One of Cynthia’s life goals is to train for and complete a triathlon. Currently, Cynthia is studying conversational Spanish and enjoys taking piano lessons.
Cynthia is the devoted wife and mother to Terry and Hayley. Terry is an independent financial advisor and Hayley is a 4th year student athlete at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. The athletic gene did not fall far from the tree as Hayley is a highly ranked division 1 swimmer competing within the respected Atlantic 10 Conference.
