Proposed Memorandum of Understanding and Between SEIU Local 500 and the Board of Education of Montgomery County

Highlights

What we’ve successfully negotiated:

• 3.35% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) starting on the pay period of December 17, 2022

• Step increase starting on the pay period of December 17, 2022

• Longevity increase starting on the pay period of December 17, 2022

This builds on top of what we secured in our spring 2021 wage negotiation:

• 1.5% COLA starting on the pay period of January 29, 2022

• Steps increase starting on the pay period of March 12, 2022

• Longevity increase starting on the pay period of March 12, 2022, or the date of actual eligibility, whichever is later.

In addition, there was a nominal amount of dollars left on the table that will be allocated to other member benefits.

We fought hard to make sure that everyone will receive two COLAs in 2022 and that all eligible members will receive two steps in 2022 in order to bring us closer to our goal of getting back to receiving our steps, longevities, and COLAs on July 1 in future years.
